After almost 500 days, 48,659 miles across five continents and many extraordinary moments, we are delighted to announce that team AutoRek has completed the Walk the World Challenge in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
A story of steps
Our team walked a total of 97,138,000 steps during the process. As we approached the first big milestone of 10,000 miles, we stopped off in many beautiful cities across Europe before venturing on to Pakistan.
The high terrain of the mountain ranges then led us to base camp at Malika Parbat (Queen of Mountains), standing at an impressive 5,920m – definitely not for those afraid of heights!
Continuing our travels across Asia led us to the halfway point in Darwin, Australia – a city famous for its vibrant food markets. Many Australian delicacies were consumed before heading back home to Scotland via the African peninsula.
With less than 10,000 miles left to complete, the team walked on until, slowly but surely, we finished.
Thank you to our top walkers: Ralph with 4,879,936 steps, Mona with 4,801,333 steps and Ed with 4,568,584 steps. We could not have done this without you!
Thank you to all that completed the challenge, helping to raise both money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We look forward to more initiatives like this in support of good causes.
You can still donate here.
